Ben Affleck recreates iconic "Good Will Hunting" scene, swaps out Matt Damon for Kerry Washington

The Argo star and director teamed up with Kerry Washington for a video promoting their new film, Animals , and recreated one of the most iconic Good Will Hunting scenes in the process. Washington mimes the dialogue and movements of Will Hunting ( Matt Damon ) in the video, pounding on a window and asking Affleck, "Do you like apples?" The Batman v. Superman actor elected to replace Damon by taking on the lead role himself, and enlisted Washington to play the protagonist's wife.

Kerry Washington and Ben Affleck Are In a Thriller Together

This movie sounds very boilerplate: mayoral candidate, corruption, kidnapping, SECRETSSSSSSS. Ben Affleck, who co-wrote it, originally planned to direct Matt Damon in the lead, with Jennifer Garner as his wife. But then Matt had to go do The Odyssey, as one does, so Ben cast himself and then he and J.Gar decided that playing husband and wife would be way too distracting for viewers. Probably wise. If anyone can handle a flick where people get their hands dirty and reveal their seedy underbell...

Kerry Washington Continues Her 'Animals' Style Run in Lanvin

Kerry Washington attended the special event for Netflix's Animals , held at Salazar in Mexico City, giving us a second look from her time in the city. In fact, I love how the openwork fabric, structured bodice and velvet shoulder ties give Kerry something more interesting to work with than a standard black gown. There is enough detail to hold my attention without any one element taking over. However, between Kerry's skin tone and the dark backdrop, the transparency is far less apparent than i...

Kerry Washington Reveals How the 'Animals' Cast Helped Ben Affleck Rewrite Netflix Thriller

But while Affleck has plenty of experience shaping films behind and in front of the camera, completing the political crime thriller's script was more of a communal effort than some might expect, with crucial parts of the movie coming together only after the final cast was assembled. Their strained marriage forms much of the film's emotional core after their son is kidnapped, putting them in a ransom situation where long-held secrets that could destroy their lives are forced out into the open.

Style File: Kerry Washington at the ANIMALS Special Reception and Fan Event in Mexico City

Sometimes we think stars pick the darkest outfits they can snag because they have to fulfill some sort of agreement but hate the designer’s wares. The blue is stunning, but we don’t like any other part of that bodice; not the neckline, not the proportions and definitely not that awkward transition to the skirt. When their son is kidnapped, a Los Angeles mayoral candidate and his wife find themselves drawn into a web of deception. As they scramble to raise the ransom payment, they’re forced to...

Ben Affleck and Kerry Washington Turn Heads With Red Carpet Embrace at 'Animals' Premiere

The actress wore a blue-and-black gown featuring feather detailing, a plunging neckline and a sheer tulle skirt that flowed into a long train. Affleck also opted for something different with an emerald green suit and a light tie that contrasted with Washington’s outfit. The lifetime friends nearly worked together on the film before scheduling changes led to Affleck playing the main character instead of Damon. Damon and Garner were set to star in “Animals” before scheduling delays led to the f...
